Computer and Internet Access

Computers are available at all branches.

Access is free with a limit of 2 hours per day.  WiFi access at all our branches

  • Email access is allowed.

  • All terminals have Windows Office

  • Printing is available at all branches. Remote printing is also available in Helena.

  • Internet use is not permitted for patrons under 18 years of age unless accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. Minors ages 10-17 may use library public access computers if they have an Internet Permission form for Minors signed by a parent or guardian on file.

 

Remote Printing

The Helena branch offers mobile/remote printing. You can send a print job to the printer from your mobile device or tablet.​

Phillips County Library System Computer Use Policy

Phillips County Library System has access to the internet and is intended as an information resource.

Users are expected to have a working knowledge of computers and the Internet. Staff will provide assistance if time and number of personnel permits.

Patrons under the age of 18 are not allowed internet access except with the assistance of a parent or legal guardian. Minor ages 10-17 may use library public access computers if they have an internet permission form for minors signed by a parent or guardian on file.

Users may not attempt to alter any software programs installed on these computers.

Internet use is restricted to 30 minutes if other patrons are waiting or registered for a scheduled time with a maximum allowed use of two hours daily.  However, if doing research or homework, an extension to the time limit may be arranged by discussing this with the front desk.

Users may download to their own flash drive. A patron’s saved work or downloaded files can not be saved on the computer’s hard drive. The Phillips County Library System is not responsible for any personal information that is left on the computer. Anything saved on any computer will be erased at the end of each day.

There is a $.25 charge per page for copies printed on the library’s computer system. All copies must be paid for if printed without staff assistance.

The library reserves the right to end use of computer resources if it determines usage is inappropriate to the purpose for which it is provided.

The library reserves the right to ask any patron to leave if his/her behavior is inappropriate or to bar any patron who uses the computer for unacceptable purposes.

Violations of this policy may lead to being banned from all use of the computers.
