The Full Story
Originally known as the Helena Women’s Association in 1891 later becomes the Phillips County Library and placed on the National Register of Historic Places by then Governor Bill Clinton in 1975. The Phillips County Library is known to be the longest continues running library west of the Mississippi. Starting out with a book collection of 533 books to what is now 48,035 located in 3 different locations. Our stats can be found in Marvell, Elaine, and Helena. We also house Phillips Lee Monroe Regional Library funded through Arkansas State Library. Our location includes public computers, Genealogy department, as well as a community room. You can find in the month of June exciting children programs including live animals, theater, and magicians. We also welcome local partnerships with other community agencies.

New Hours
The library will be open Monday-Friday from 9-1. We will have a limit of 6 patrons at a time. Must have a mask to enter. Computers are to be for business use only at this time no social media. No public restrooms at this time. We still offer curbside if you would like to call ahead.
